Matteo Bernini (Italy) became new Go-As-You-Please (GAYP) World Champion with a world title match victory over Lubabalo Kondlo (South Africa) by a score of 3-0 with 19 draws. The match was held April 25-30 in Tulsa Oklahoma (USA).

The schedule of 2023 WCDF events is as follows:

World Qualifier/Woman & Youth World Championship (Go-As-You-Please, GAYP): May 2-5, Grand Park Lara Hotel, Antalya, Turkey
European Championship (3-move) May 12-14, Misano Adriatico, Italy
3-move World Title Match - (proposed as April 18-27, 2024, at International Checker Hall of Fame), Sergio Scarpetta (Italy, Champion) vs. Alex Moiseyev (USA, Challenger)
• Of additional interest, US National (3-move) on June 13-16 in Branson, Missouri will have $32,780 in prizes and will be followed by a speed tournament in Vidor, Texas on June 19-22 with a mixed format in 11-man ballot (serves as Qualifier)/GAYP/3-Move.

Weekly on-line tournaments by Iqbal Ahmed continue, as well as periodic on-line checker leagues by Jake Evans.
